Twitter Traffic
This post on Twitter is long overdue. I remember creating many twitter accounts, when it came into market intitally. I was assuming that, very soon, this will become an important part of your markting tools. So I created all the possible accounts w.r.t my domain names and the required keywords for them. However as it happens always, I just created the accounts.. posted a few tweets and then just stopped using it.
Off late, everyday I was getting many followers added for a very popular user account I had created on Twitter. I hardly added any updates for that account, but since the keyword is so good, people just started following me. I then planned to start tweeting again. Before I go more into the details of my tweeting activities, for the newbies, let me first give a brief description of Twitter.
Twitter as said in their website is a service to let people know, what are you doing?.
“Twitter is a service for friends, family, and co–workers to communicate and stay connected through the exchange of quick, frequent answers to one simple question: What are you doing?”
And the most intersting thing is that you have to express yourself in just 140 characters. Yes you need to be creative and put your point across in 140 characters. What I like best about tweeting is that you can actually have an online conversation with your followers with the @Reply method. This means that you are directly addressing to the said user account.
There is also a way of sending private messages using the Direct message link. This is often called as a microblogging tool and you have to build followers, people who are intersted in knowing your updates. You also follow others, so that you can reach out to your target market and build a great network. There is this search facility, where you can search for the specific users based on your interest area and you start following them. They may follow you back. Any updates or tweets sent by you, will be seen by all your followers, so it really helps you, when you want to reach out to many people and let them know about your latest post, latest product, anything intersting.
When I started tweeting and following people, I realized that it was so much fun. I found one sponsor for my KidsandBibs Baby Photo Contest and she became a sponsor for the contest for a whole year. It was a good effort and I am sure, if one spends quality time on Twitter, then they can have a good traffic from Twitter. So use Twitter for Traffic.
