India wins World Cup 2011

If you have been following my blog, you must have read about the much hyped semi final match between India and Pakistan. And as all the Indians wanted, wished and prayed, India won the game and played the finals against Sri Lanka in Mumbai’s Wankhede Stadium. Sri Lanka won the toss and opted to bat first. Sri Lanka made 274 runs and it was a good score for them and a difficult score to chase for India.
When India’s batting started, Sehwag and Sachin were out in the first few overs and we all had almost lost hope about winning the match. However a good batting from Gambhir and then from the Captain Dhoni, it was a clear victory and what a match it was. The celebrations is still going on.
This is just April and Diwali is still months away, however India has already witnessed two Diwalis last week. First it was the Pakistan victory to reach the world cup finals and then the final World Cup victory. It was a good sight to see Sachin Tendulkar crying with joy!
This is just the start and now the Indian team is full of confidence and Indians can look forward to many such world cups in the future!
India vs Pakistan World Cup 2011
Today, 30th March 2011, a very important date in the lives of millions of Indians. But if you try to recall, you will not find this date, in your history books and also there is no indian festival on this day. Then, what is so important about this day? Well as the title says – Today is “India vs Pakistan World Cup 2011″ semifinal match. India is a cricket crazy nation, it is a known fact. And on top of that, imagine we have a match against Pakistan (our good old neighbor), and it is not your usual ODI or T20 series, it is a World Cup match and the best thing is the winner gets to go in the Finals. Imagine what will happen to the citizens of both these countries on such a BIG DAY!
I am sure, everyone have their own plans for this big match of India s Pakistan. Most of the employees will either report sick or make their kids sick. Some good companies who keep employee’s happiness on top of their list, will give cricket holiday. Mothers who are otherwise busy preparing for their kid’s final exams (yes these days, it is not the kids who have to give exams, exams are more for the moms), will have to test her skills in time management today, keeping a tab on score made by India, and also making sure that her child learns all the lessons fast, so that both can relax and enjoy the game together.
Whatever the result may be, it is going to be a great match. I wonder why we love India vs. Pakistan matches so much?
Wishing success to the Men in Blue! All the best ![]()
